15th May 2015
What a busy week we have had! Some of the highlights from this week have been:
Writing: Harakeke students have been writing recounts this week about their Mother’s day experiences, it sounds like there was a lot of breakfasts in bed!.
Te Reo Maori: Harakeke students have been learning the words to the Ma is White song, which also helps to teach the children maori vowel pronunciation and numbers to ten. Please can we have donations of any old magazines that you no longer want- we wish to make a pair of ‘Rakau sticks’ for all students in our learning community over the next two weeks.
PE Lessons: We haven’t been very lucky this week with the weather, but hopefully the sun shines a bit more next week.
Reading: Congratulations to all those children that received their 50 or 75 stickers this week.
Social Science: Children have been learning about the concept of communities and about the different communities that they belong to and exist in and around West Melton.
Harakeke and Kiwi Team Blog: Please make sure that you regularly check for updates on our blogs, this is a great way check out the things children have been doing in class.
